The NPO SOS Denied Childhood was established in 2004 in Rome, when a group of people, guided by the a strong willingness to help others, decided to follow the example of Father Vito del Prete. He was a PIME missionary, who was touched by the extreme pain experienced by children het met in Sout-East Asia.
These countries’ development can only re-start from educating their children. Education would allow them to get to know their rights, face the World outside and help their countries growing. This can happen through building new schools and introduce educational systems designed to ease the learning procedure, as well as open medical centres provided with adequate equipment.
Another aim of SOS Denied Childhood is to support projects within local communities, which cannot afford their implementation.
